Where there’s a Will – there’s often a lawsuit!

In this country you are free to leave your money to whomsoever you wish.  You may suddenly go off all your children and decide to leave it all to the local cat’s home and why shouldn’t you?  After all – it is your money and you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone.  However, these days there is a lot more money involved and if you have left a house, it can be worth a considerable amount of money – enough money to fight over.
The problems often start if you’ve either not made a Will or were suffering from a loss of mental capacity and things have changed since you made your Will (such as your family or fortune).  Then the rules of intestacy kick in or the Court makes a decision over who has the money.  Both of these can cause a lot of heart-ache and even cause families to break up.
It becomes even more complicated if you have recently got yourself a new family or have left your spouse and moved in with someone new and had children by them.  Nevertheless, even if you’ve made a proper Will, it won’t stop the family fighting over it and falling out with each other.  It’s depressing but true.  Even so, the best thing you can do is make a proper Will.
If you’ve found yourself in an unpleasant situation where you are fighting or defending a Will, you may be able to get help on a no win no fee basis.
